MJF 3D Printing Services

SUDACNC provides professional HP MJF Multi Jet Fusion printing for high-consistency nylon functional prototypes and low-medium volume batch production parts. Support-free powder bed technology delivers uniform isotropic strength, fast layer-wide fusion, and stable repeatability for mass custom manufacturing with competitive lead times.

What Is MJF 3D Printing?

MJF (Multi Jet Fusion) is HP proprietary powder bed fusion additive manufacturing technology. Inkjet printheads deposit fusing & detailing agents onto nylon powder, then infrared lamps fuse entire layers simultaneously without laser scanning.

MJF eliminates support structures completely, delivers near 100% isotropic tensile strength across all axes, faster build speed than SLS, higher powder recycling rate, and consistent dimensional repeatability. Perfect for batch serial production of complex assemblies, internal lattices, undercut structures used in automotive, medical, automation and consumer hardware.

MJF 3D Printing Basics

MJF Multi Jet Fusion is HP industrial powder-bed polymer additive manufacturing. Inkjet arrays deposit fusion & detailing agents on nylon powder, full-layer infrared lamp heating melts target regions at once. No laser point scanning, uniform thermal distribution delivers higher isotropy, faster cycle time and higher powder recycling efficiency than traditional SLS sintering. Our industrial MJF production line serves batch functional component manufacturing for automotive, medical and automation industries.

Core Advantages of Our MJF 3D Printing Service

  • Zero Support Geometry Freedom: Complex internal channels, porous lattices and interlocking assemblies print in single step without removal work
  • 95%+ Isotropic Mechanical Performance: Z-axis tensile strength nearly equal to XY plane, eliminates layer weakness under dynamic load
  • High Production Throughput: Whole-layer fusion reduces print cycle by 30~50% compared to laser SLS for batch orders
  • High Powder Reuse Rate: 80~85% unused nylon powder recyclable, lowers material cost for mass runs
  • Serial Production Consistency: Stable thermal chamber ensures uniform shrinkage and dimension repeatability across dozens of identical parts per build

Nylon Powders For MJF 3D Printing

We stock full HP-certified MJF polymer powders covering general engineering, medical skin-contact, rigid reinforced and flexible elastomer low-volume serial production needs.

Unfilled PA12 is the mainstream MJF material with balanced toughness, excellent oil/chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, suitable for automotive ducts, automation jigs, consumer product housings and general batch functional parts.

PA11: High ductility, biocompatible for orthotics, surgical guides and long-term skin contact medical devices.

Glass bead filled PA12: Higher rigidity, lower thermal shrinkage, ideal for precision assembly fixtures requiring stable dimension.

TPU elastomer (Shore 88A): Elastic shock-absorbent parts like wearable buffers, soft grips and flexible connecting components.

V0 flame retardant PA12: Halogen-free fire resistance for electrical equipment enclosures and power module housings.

MJF 3D Printing Frequently Asked Questions

MJF is HP proprietary powder-bed fusion polymer 3D printing technology. Inkjet heads deposit fusion agents on nylon powder, then infrared lamps melt entire layers at once. It produces support-free nylon parts with ultra-uniform isotropic strength, optimized for low-medium batch serial manufacturing.

MJF fuses whole layers via infrared lamp, faster production speed, higher powder recycling rate and superior Z-axis isotropy; SLS uses laser point-by-point scanning, wider range of special reinforced nylon materials but lower batch throughput and weaker vertical mechanical performance.

MJF is cost-efficient for batch runs from 50 to 500 units. For mass high-volume thousands-level production injection molding is more economical, while MJF excels at customized complex low-medium batch functional end-use components without expensive mold investment.

STL, 3MF, STEP, IGES, SLDPRT, X_T, CATPart and OBJ. STL and 3MF are standard slicing input formats for MJF processing workflow.

Small simple PA12 batch parts ship within 4~5 working days; large complex lattice assemblies, PA11 medical grade or vapor smoothing finished orders require 6~9 working days including full post processing and quality inspection.

Why Choose Industrial MJF Batch Printing Over Traditional SLS Nylon Printing

Swipe to scroll horizontally
Comparison Factor Industrial HP MJF Multi Jet Fusion Conventional Laser SLS Nylon Printing
Mechanical Isotropy (Z-axis Strength) 95%+ isotropy, vertical strength nearly matches horizontal planes, stable for dynamic load moving assemblies. Only 80~90% isotropy, obvious Z-axis weakness, easy layer separation under repeated bending or impact.
Batch Printing Throughput Whole-layer infrared fusion, production efficiency 1.5~2 times higher than laser SLS for large quantity orders. Laser single-point scanning layer by layer, slow cycle time, high unit cost for medium batch sizes.
Powder Recycling Utilization Rate 80~85% unused nylon powder recyclable, significantly cuts raw material cost for continuous mass production. Only 30~50% recoverable powder, high material waste raises overall batch manufacturing expense.
Surface Detail Edge Sharpness Special detailing agent forms crisp precise edges, 80μm uniform thin layer for fine small feature definition. Laser thermal diffusion blurs part boundaries, thicker minimum layer height leads to rougher raw surface texture.
Serial Batch Dimension Consistency Uniform full-bed heating chamber minimizes shrinkage difference, consistent tolerance across dozens of parts per single build. Uneven laser heat distribution causes inconsistent shrinkage between center and edge parts of powder bed.
Target Production Volume Suitability Optimized for 50~500 unit low-medium serial batches with balanced cost & speed advantage. Better for single small prototype runs or special carbon/glass filled nylon materials unavailable on MJF systems.
