What Is PCB Assembly (PCBA)?


PCB Assembly, abbreviated as PCBA, refers to the complete manufacturing process of soldering electronic components onto bare printed circuit boards to form functional circuit boards. It mainly includes two core assembly technologies: SMT Surface Mount Technology for miniature surface devices, and THT Through-Hole Technology for large plug-in power components.

A complete PCBA workflow includes DFA manufacturability review, incoming material IQC inspection, solder paste printing, high-speed component placement, nitrogen reflow soldering, wave/selective soldering, multi-stage automated optical & X-Ray inspection, electrical ICT/FCT functional testing, firmware programming and optional protective conformal coating.
